About Our Client
Our client stands out as a global leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients in both the chemical and biotechnology sectors. They are seeking a highly skilled individual to join their team in Visp, Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and coach a multidisciplinary manufacturing team, ensuring overall performance management, talent development, workforce planning, hiring, and employee relations.
- Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution of downstream processing (DSP) manufacturing operations, meeting production campaigns in alignment with safety, quality, GMP, and customer requirements.
- Drive operational excellence through performance metrics management, problem resolution, continuous improvement initiatives, and innovation promotion across the production organization.
- Oversee resource and capacity planning, training strategies, and new technology implementations to ensure operational readiness and sustainable performance.
- Provide strong cross-functional leadership, facilitating effective communication and collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Represent manufacturing during customer meetings, audits, and regulatory inspections, ensuring ongoing compliance and preparation for inspections.
- Maintain technical and quality oversight through various approvals and implementation of GMP documentation within the manufacturing unit.
- Act as a crucial member of the Manufacturing Leadership Team, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support capital investment and facility expansion projects, contributing expertise in facility design and operational readiness.
- Serve as the deputy to the Head of Operations, ensuring continuity in leadership and decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a relevant Swiss working/residency permit and/or Swiss/EU citizenship.
- MSc or equivalent degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or a related field.
- Over 10 years of experience in biotechnological manufacturing.
- Demonstrated agility and adaptability with a mindset geared towards continuous improvement and capability in leading change initiatives.
- Strong business acumen to align objectives with organizational strategy.
- Proven collaboration skills that foster effective partnerships and inclusivity.
- Customer-focused with an aptitude for understanding stakeholder needs and driving improvements.
- Results-oriented with a history of achieving KPIs and managing priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated effective leadership qualities, including accountability, integrity, and support for team development.
- Fluency in English with a minimum B2 level of proficiency in German.
