Head of 3D Product Design Footwear

Position Overview

We are searching for a visionary leader with a solid background in footwear product design, advanced expertise in 3D modeling, and a passion for emerging technologies. This role encompasses the leadership of a dedicated team focused on expanding the frontiers of digital design while transitioning from traditional practices to innovative, computationally-driven workflows.

Your Mission

• Build and develop a skilled team of 3D modeling, rendering, and visualization experts, ensuring collaboration with all design specialists to achieve outstanding results from concept through to production-ready data sets.
• Integrate as a vital member of the design studio, constantly pushing the visual and technical boundaries of our products.
• Inspire and mentor team members to enhance their skills, fostering future-focused design capabilities in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
• Lead the transition from 2D to 3D by incorporating AI and computational design tools, establishing the design workflows that will define our future.
• Ensure the accurate digital representation of materials in virtual prototypes, enhancing both visual and physical authenticity.
• Minimize the reliance on physical samples and streamline development timelines to allow for more creative exploration.
• Scale 3D pilot initiatives into reliable workflows, continually optimizing processes for long-term effectiveness across the design organization.
• Serve as a crucial liaison among internal teams in Zurich and Asia, along with cross-functional departments such as Development, Engineering, IT, and Operations, ensuring seamless alignment throughout the footwear creation process.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for our digital product landscape in partnership with cross-functional teams.

Your Story

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, 3D Animation, Game Design, or a related field with a focus on 3D and digital design.
• 7-10 years of experience in top-tier design environments, with a robust portfolio showcasing visual and performance product solutions.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams and large-scale projects within agile settings.
• In-depth knowledge of 2D and 3D design tools spanning sketching, modeling, rendering, and computational design.
• A strong passion for performance products and a connection to the world of sports and movement.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
