At House of Gentle Arts, we are a network of gyms located in Zurich, dedicated to providing high-quality Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) instruction. As an organization recognized by the Swiss Ministry of Sports and actively collaborating with the city of Zurich, we cater to a diverse audience of adults and children, from recreational practitioners to competitive athletes.

Position Overview

We are in search of a visionary leader with extensive experience in high-performance team management to spearhead our program in Zurich and design the BJJ framework for our future academies. This role involves ensuring excellence in instruction, instructor development, and athlete training across all units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instruct and Mentor Coaches: Develop a comprehensive coach development program that aligns instructors with unified technical and pedagogical standards.
  • Create Scalable Programs: Design a technical and pedagogical curriculum for children, recreational practitioners, and elite athletes that guarantees consistent quality throughout the network.
  • Lead Instruction: Teach essential classes, serve as the technical reference for coaching staff, and conduct internal and external technical events to enhance network culture.
  • Quality Control: Establish evaluation and monitoring systems to ensure the effective implementation of programs across all units.
  • Support Expansion: Collaborate with management to devise technical structures for new academies while developing strategies for scaling the business and diversifying revenue.
  • Oversee Competition Program: Develop and manage the network’s competition initiatives to cultivate top-tier athletes.
  • Brand Representation: Act as an ambassador for House of Gentle Arts within both national and international BJJ communities.

Required Qualifications

  • Black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with a strong competitive history in high-level tournaments (Gi and No-Gi).
  • Minimum of 7 years of coaching experience with a proven history of developing champions and leading successful teams.
  • Experience with competitive, recreational, and youth programs.
  • Ability to create scalable technical and pedagogical curricula.
  • Demonstrated success in training, leading, and inspiring instructors.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
  • Passion for teaching and personal development, with a commitment to building a lasting legacy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a head coach or technical director in a large academy or network.
  • Knowledge of expansion and standardization of sports or educational programs.
  • Basic knowledge of German and Portuguese is advantageous.
