Role Overview

In this position, you will guide the development and execution of strategic global brand and marketing plans that elevate our Diabetes brands worldwide. You will shape long-term brand strategy, work closely with regional and affiliate teams, and ensure the clarity, alignment, and purpose of global initiatives. Your efforts will directly contribute to improving patient outcomes while driving sustainable, meaningful business impact across diverse markets.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Marketing Leadership: Develop forward-looking, cross-functional brand plans that support Abbott’s Global Diabetes Portfolio. Identify emerging trends and prioritize opportunities to reflect patient, provider, and market needs.
  • Insights & Customer Understanding: Lead market insights and research initiatives to enhance the overall customer and patient experience. Translate insights into actionable global marketing strategies.
  • Brand Positioning & Differentiation: Shape compelling global brand positioning with resonant messaging for key stakeholders. Set inspiring objectives that align with Abbott’s long-term vision.
  • Integrated Marketing Programs: Design and oversee multichannel marketing programs to engage healthcare professionals, pharmacists, and patients. Ensure inclusive and accessible approaches across diverse markets.
  • Global Launch Excellence: Lead comprehensive launch plans for new global diabetes brands, partnering closely with affiliates for successful execution.
  • Collaboration with Affiliates: Work with local marketing teams, offering guidance and support to ensure consistent brand execution.
  • Brand Stream Leadership: Lead the Diabetes Brand Stream and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver key business priorities while developing life-cycle management strategies.
  • Budget Stewardship: Manage the promotional budget strategically, ensuring a strong ROI across initiatives.
  • Performance Tracking: Establish monitoring processes and provide solutions-oriented updates to senior management.
  • Best Practice Sharing: Foster collaboration and continuous learning by facilitating knowledge-sharing across regions.

Candidate Profile

  • Education: University degree (preferably in Science or Business). An MBA or postgraduate marketing qualification is advantageous but not required.
  • Experience: Proven experience managing global or regional Cardiometabolic brands; candidates with biosimilars experience are also encouraged to explore this opportunity.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required; additional languages such as Spanish, Arabic, or Mandarin are a plus.
  • Core Skills: Strong strategic thinking, brand building capability, launch experience, customer engagement across multiple channels, and analytical abilities.
  • Key Competencies: Experience in managing diabetes portfolios, understanding of global markets, collaborative mindset, proactive problem-solving, inclusive communication, and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
