Impactful Leadership Opportunity in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Join a well-established pharmaceutical company and make a significant impact with your innovation. This engaging role is focused on leading GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing operations across two facilities in Western Australia, aiming to drive operational excellence and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day GMP manufacturing operations, including extraction, formulation, packaging, and labeling of various dosage forms.
  • Lead the establishment and operation of a new GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Perth, including commissioning and qualification procedures.
  • Manage the Collie manufacturing facility to ensure consistent standards and production schedules across both sites.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance and Quality Control team on quality management systems, inspections, and regulatory compliance (TGA, PIC-S GMP, EU GMP).
  • Handle ODC permits, quotas, and documentation for import/export pathways.
  • Drive production planning, capacity utilization, yield improvement, and cost optimization.
  • Partner with QC teams on method validation, stability programs, and release testing.
  • Ensure post-harvest operations meet manufacturing specifications.
  • Commission, qualify, and maintain critical manufacturing equipment and infrastructure.
  • Build and lead high-performing production, engineering, and warehouse teams across both sites.
  • Support B2B and export contracts, client audits, and batch documentation for domestic and international markets.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, including expansion projects, automation, and branded product development.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Leadership experience in GMP pharmaceutical or medicinal cannabis manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of PIC-S GMP, TGA manufacturing licenses, ODC permits, and EU GMP standards.
  • Hands-on expertise in extraction, formulation, packaging, and analytical operations at scale.
  • Proven ability to maintain audit readiness and navigate inspections.
  • Experience commissioning new GMP facilities or managing multiple sites.
  • Strong commercial acumen in capacity planning, contracts, and logistics.
  • Willingness to be based in Perth and travel regularly to Collie.
  • Degree in pharmacy, chemistry, chemical/process engineering, biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Experience with cannabis-specific dosage forms (e.g., oils, extracts, vapes, topicals).
  • Familiarity with GACP-to-GMP transitions from cultivation sites.
  • Background in export documentation and compliance with UK/EU regulations.
  • Regional or Western Australian site leadership experience.
