Role Summary
The Finance Partner provides essential financial information, advice, analysis, forecasting, and training in fund management to support program leadership in delivering effective financial plans and resource management, ensuring enhanced program delivery and fund oversight.
Project Overview
The Medair Global Support Office (GSO) Finance Department focuses on financial and investment decisions, serving as a financial gatekeeper and strategic advisor in daily operations and mid to long-term strategic decision-making, leveraging a fit-for-purpose finance system to optimize key processes.
Workplace & Conditions
This is a global support office position based in Lausanne, Switzerland, open to Swiss or eligible EU citizens and those with a valid work permit for Switzerland.
Responsibilities
- Manage institutional and private funding: Monitor and analyze budgets, update tools, and ensure accurate reporting while supporting audits, communicating findings, and managing risks and opportunities.
- Advise on country funding strategy: Provide technical support to country program senior management and develop and review financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Develop and respond to key performance indicators, innovate finance processes, and support system optimization. Lead or participate in projects aimed at enhancing finance performance.
- Train and support Finance Managers in International Country Programs.
Qualifications, Experience & Technical Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or equivalent relevant education.
- 5+ years’ experience in finance within an NGO and/or large complex organizations.
- Working proficiency in English; French is desirable.
- Proven skills in data analysis, financial reporting, presentations, problem-solving, and detailed administration.
- High computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel).
