Expert Science & Technology - Synthesis Technician

Position Overview

This opportunity is located in Basel, Switzerland, within the Global Technical R&D department of a leading global healthcare organization. This role is pivotal in developing innovative processes for manufacturing and analyzing complex small molecule drug substances, specifically focusing on bio-conjugation products.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize your expertise in laboratory operations to define future manufacturing processes for bioconjugation projects such as Antibody-Oligonucleotides.
• Generate crucial synthetic and analytical data to evaluate and establish manufacturing processes, ensuring high quality, efficiency, and environmental compatibility.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure timely and quality delivery of new oligonucleotide drugs to patients.
• Document experiments and relevant information to support filing and patent applications.
• Maintain and optimize lab infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient execution of chemical experiments.

Qualifications

Education:

• Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship (e.g., Laborant Chemie/Analytik EFZ or equivalent), or a completed BSc. or MSc. degree in a related field.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in synthesis or chemical process development is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of bioconjugation or chemical modification of fermentation products, such as Antibody-Drug Conjugations, is desirable.
• Familiarity with software tools, including the Office suite and chromatography data evaluation software, is beneficial.
• Experience with SEC chromatography or relevant analytical techniques is a plus.
• Independent, self-motivated work style, coupled with effective team collaboration and communication skills.
• Strong documentation skills for experimental execution and result recording.

Languages:

• Proficiency in English (oral and written) is required; knowledge of German and other languages is advantageous.
