Opportunity Overview

Located in the heart of Basel, Switzerland, this role is situated within a globally recognized healthcare organization known for its innovative and diverse product pipeline. As part of the Global Technical R&D department, you will contribute to critical processes that support the development and analysis of cutting-edge small molecule drug substances, specifically focused on complex bio-conjugation constructs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct development and optimization of analytical methods to effectively monitor and control quality of starting materials and intermediates.
• Plan and execute analytical method development in a non-GMP setting while preparing methods for seamless transition to GMP compliance.
• Utilize a diverse array of analytical techniques to tackle challenging separation and detection tasks.
• Document and report experimental data comprehensively, ensuring high standards of accuracy and clarity.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and infrastructure, ensuring operational efficiency and quality of work output.

Qualifications

Education

• Completion of a relevant apprenticeship (e.g., Laborant Chemie/Analytik EFZ) or equivalent, with a focus on analytics.
• Open to applicants with BSc. or MSc. degrees in relevant fields.

Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in chemical development is highly desired.
• Proficient in a range of analytical techniques, especially HPLC/UHPLC with DAD/MS detection, SEC, AEX, and IC.
• Specialized knowledge in automated separation development tools (e.g., Autochrome) for complex analytical challenges is a key selection criterion.
• Basic proficiency in software and computer tools, including the Office suite and chromatography data analysis software (e.g., Chromeleon) is desirable.
• Possess an independent and self-motivated work style, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrate good documentation practices during experimental execution and results reporting.

Language Skills

• Proficient in English (oral and written); knowledge of German and other languages is advantageous.
