Join Our Collaborative Team

The International Medical Affairs team plays a crucial role in representing the voice of global markets, addressing their needs in various stages including pre-launch, launch, and lifecycle management. The team focuses on implementing strategic initiatives, scientific communications, and medical education tailored to priority markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a dedicated International Medical Affairs team for a specific disease area (Renal) and manage international medical directors.
  • Oversee launch strategies for priority programs in key International countries, utilizing innovative tactics and partnerships.
  • Advise on plans for evidence generation, including strategies for MSL/Field Medical Affairs, medical education, publications, and network development.
  • Co-develop and implement innovative education and scientific communication strategies for external stakeholders.
  • Ensure financial tracking for timely and efficient execution of medical activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape launch portfolios and broaden access to key programs.
  • Represent International Medical Affairs in interactions with internal and external groups while ensuring patient interests are prioritized.
  • Provide guidance for developing successful reimbursement and market-access strategies.
  • Shape Field Medical Strategies and execute plans to gather insights and facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure compliance and high standards of medical quality in all activities undertaken by International Medical Affairs.

Essential Requirements

  • MD (preferred), PhD, or PharmD in Health Sciences; a specialized degree is advantageous.
  • Over 7 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, particularly in Medical Affairs or Clinical Development.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders in a matrix organization.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare systems and the ability to navigate complex environments.
  • Experience in identifying and addressing unmet medical needs with effective evidence generation and communication.
  • Demonstrated collaboration capabilities across functions and markets.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, able to operate with high levels of autonomy.
  • Proven track record in delivering quality projects within the medical affairs arena.

Desirable Requirements

  • Significant pre-launch and launch experience in major markets, particularly in renal disease.
  • Experience in developing scalable best practices in medical affairs.

Location

This role is based in Basel, Switzerland.
