Executive Director, Hematology Value & Access

Position Overview

Join a pioneering team dedicated to maximizing access to healthcare solutions. Located in Basel, Switzerland, this role requires a strategic and operational leader to guide the Access team in the Diseases Area (DA). Engage with commercial launch strategies and collaborate closely with Medical Affairs, Novartis Regions, and country teams to enhance the access landscape for Novartis assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent Access talent and drive vision within the internal Access community, while engaging external stakeholders to advance Novartis' strategic access agenda.
• Develop and implement Integrated Product Access strategies, collaborating with Therapeutic Areas (TAs) and stakeholders to align payer requirements with clinical initiatives.
• Create a compelling strategic vision for patient access while leveraging internal insights and external validations to assess potential strategies.
• Partner with the Pricing team to formulate the international pricing strategy, ensuring compliance and support for effective negotiations in key markets.
• Ensure that Novartis brands are launched with a comprehensive payer value proposition, emphasizing value for money and robust pricing strategies.
• Develop and share best practices in access strategy across multiple therapeutic areas and adapt to market needs.
• Build and nurture a high-performing access team, focusing on talent development and enhancing overall capabilities within the organization.

Essential Qualifications

• Advanced degree such as an MBA, Ph.D., M.D., or RPh.
• Over 7 years of experience in market access roles within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience in global or regional market access, with a minimum of 5 years' experience outside the US.
• Background in early drug development and product launch experiences.
• Proficient communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Desirable Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in market access within the pharmaceutical sector.
• Experience in the hematology therapeutic area.
