Role Overview

Located in Basel, Switzerland, this position focuses on the management and leadership of formulation and manufacturing activities related to the development of innovative, patient-centric oral dosage forms. The responsibilities include guiding drug product teams through various phases of development, particularly during initial clinical phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all technical development activities related to Drug Product (DP) for assigned projects while representing DP project teams in Technical Research and Development (TRD) sub-teams, leveraging scientific expertise.
  • Foster a strong team spirit, promoting knowledge exchange within and between teams, while motivating and coaching team members for high performance.
  • Develop comprehensive DP project strategies, including contingency planning and risk assessments, ensuring alignment with departments and relevant parties.
  • Negotiate and consolidate resource needs and timelines for assigned projects, ensuring accurate reflection in planning systems.
  • Guide adherence to scientific review processes, ensuring high-quality and scientifically sound DP development documentation for CMC submission packages.
  • Contribute to filing dossiers, addressing DP-related inquiries during inspections, and supporting requests from Health Authorities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An advanced degree in a relevant scientific field such as Pharmaceutical Technology or Chemistry.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of successful experience in the pharmaceutical formulation development within a matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in a specific scientific or technical area of Biopharmaceutical sciences.
  • Strong project management abilities, with effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Interdisciplinary thinking and a collaborative mindset.
  • A comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical development activities and processes.
  • Knowledge of laboratory tools, GLP, and GMP regulations.
  • Strong presentation and scientific writing skills.
