Position Overview
Lightium is developing next-generation photonic integrated circuits on thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) and is currently seeking an experienced professional to assist in analyzing and visualizing technical data as well as enhancing infrastructure for valuable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Engineering & Pipeline Development:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines from lab instruments, PLM, ERP, and operational systems.
- Manage ELT/ETL transformations using Python and DBT, adhering to software engineering best practices.
- Utilize cloud object storage and Apache Iceberg to manage scalable data lakes for both batch and incremental processing.
- Implement data quality checks and schema validation to ensure reliable and traceable data.
- Evolve the data warehouse layer to accommodate growing analytical workloads.
- Data Modelling & Transformation:
- Convert raw data from diverse sources into structured analytical datasets.
- Define and maintain DBT models that represent business logic and metrics.
- Collaborate with experts to ensure data models reflect physical reality accurately.
- Document data lineage and transformation logic for downstream users.
- Dashboarding, Reporting & Manufacturing Visibility:
- Create dashboards offering real-time visibility into wafer yield and process control metrics.
- Generate reports that highlight actionable manufacturing insights.
- Develop self-service data access tools for engineers to quickly find information.
- Work with teams to define vital KPIs and real-time visualizations for decision-making.
- Manufacturing Analytics, Yield & Process Optimization:
- Build models focused on wafer-level yield analysis and process optimization.
- Create anomaly detection systems to identify potential yield loss early.
- Stay updated on scientific ML and semiconductor analytics, integrating emerging methods where beneficial.
- Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with teams to translate their data needs into actionable engineering tasks.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of pipeline logic and model definitions.
- Communicate findings and progress transparently to foster knowledge sharing.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A recent graduate or industry expert with a degree in a relevant quantitative field.
- Strong Python programming skills with an emphasis on writing clean, maintainable code.
- Proficient in SQL with the ability to design schemas and optimize queries.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and data warehousing, particularly AWS or GCP.
- Hands-on experience with data pipeline tools and a basic understanding of machine learning concepts.
- A detail-oriented mindset with a focus on data quality.
- Proactive approach with a results-oriented attitude.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
