Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all commissioning responsibilities on site, including the setup, management, and closing of the Commissioning plan for projects.
- Manage direct reports (commissioning and testing personnel on site).
- Supervise the Commissioning Tagging process and ensure adherence to procedures.
- Report progress on all Commissioning activities to internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead weekly commissioning meetings and direct related activities.
- Coordinate daily whiteboard meetings on commissioning matters.
- Facilitate weekly commissioning meetings with the General Contractor and clients, providing updates on progress.
- Develop and maintain the Project commissioning schedule in collaboration with project planners.
- Manage "Lock Out – Tag Out" processes and procedures.
- Oversee Area Control Permits for all areas under Mercury’s management, ensuring control and restriction protocols are followed.
- Compile and verify all Testing and Commissioning Documentation, and endorse outcomes.
- Coordinate with other trades, Package Leads, and consulting Engineers for project commissioning activities.
- Track testing and commissioning staff attendance and distribute daily labour allocation Tracker sheets.
- Assist in managing costs associated with the commissioning package including teams and sub-contractors.
- Supervise on-site commissioning operations and sub-contractor activities, ensuring adherence to schedule and staffing levels.
- Attend various site meetings and internal project reviews to ensure cohesive project implementation.
- Ensure timely closeout of all project tasks in collaboration with package managers.
- Implement a weekly look ahead for workflow coordination.
- Maintain a project photographic diary for records.
- Establish strong professional relationships with Clients and Vendors.
Qualifications and Key Criteria
- Willingness to travel freely across the EU for project responsibilities.
- Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of commissioning manager experience in large-scale industrial projects, or equivalent expertise.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems related to Data Centres.
- Strong understanding of building regulations and European standards.
- Proven experience managing and executing Initial System Testing (IST) and developing related documentation on digital platforms.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Strong communication skills suitable for interaction at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to produce detailed reports and presentations of high quality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Skilled in managing client/vendor relationships to ensure specifications compliance.
- Adept at delegation and team leadership.
- Proven capability to thrive in a team-oriented environment and maintain amicable relations.
- Strong time management skills with a commitment to achieving results.
