This remote contract position, spanning six to twelve months with an approximate commitment of thirty hours per week starting in January, focuses on maintaining high-quality clinical content and terminology standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and maintain drug indication content, ensuring accurate relationships between drugs, conditions, and patient factors.
  • Map and normalize medications and clinical concepts using SNOMED CT and RxNorm standards.
  • Contribute to the construction and refinement of knowledge graphs and concept hierarchies that support drug lookup and matching capabilities.
  • Synthesize information from multiple clinical and drug references into a single, reliable, and consistent view.
  • Collaborate with informatics, product, and engineering colleagues to translate clinical needs into structured content.
  • Document decision-making processes and identify content gaps to ensure data integrity.

Required Qualifications

  • A medical degree (MD/DO or equivalent), with USMLE passed where relevant to the candidate's location.
  • Clinical background in family medicine or internal medicine.
  • Working knowledge of SNOMED CT and RxNorm.
  • Understanding of semantics, ontologies, and knowledge representation structures, including graphs, trees, and hierarchies.
  • Strong knowledge of drug therapy and indications.
  • Ability to work independently in a part-time contract capacity.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience in clinical informatics, medical content creation, or terminology management.
  • Experience with drug reference tools or clinical decision support systems.
  • Familiarity with ICD-10 and LOINC standards.
