Role Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) holds a critical role in overseeing financial strategy, reporting, and forecasting for a global organization. This position requires a leader who will provide financial insight and stewardship while partnering closely with organizational leadership to drive financial strategies that promote governance, informed decision-making, and long-term value creation. The CFO will also engage with external stakeholders to ensure alignment of financial strategies with organizational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop the overarching financial vision and strategy, ensuring sustainability and alignment with organizational goals.
- Financial Control and Reporting: Oversee the system of financial controls, ensuring accurate reporting of financial performance and compliance with regulatory obligations.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Analyze financial performance to support strategic decision-making and develop performance measurement systems.
- Treasury, Cash Management, and Investments: Lead capital structure and funding initiatives, optimizing returns on cash and managing investment strategies.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Develop financial compliance policies and oversee financial oversight on regulatory matters.
- Cost Control & Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with teams to integrate financial insights and promote a culture of performance accountability.
- Tax Strategy & Compliance: Define tax planning strategies that align with financial objectives and ensure compliance with legal standards.
- Organizational Development & Expansion: Mobilize financial structuring for new initiatives and oversee due diligence for operational expansion.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Build relationships with funding agencies and ensure clear communication of financial performance and strategies.
Qualifications and Profile
- Post-graduate qualifications / MBA.
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven leadership experience (minimum of 10 years) in a similar role.
- Extensive senior management experience in complex organizational environments.
- High standards of professionalism, commitment, and integrity.
- Cultural sensitivity with adaptable communication styles.
- Strong critical thinking capabilities and ability to navigate complex situations.
- Willingness to undertake extensive international travel.
The position is based in Geneva, Switzerland.
