Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, focusing on a mix of audit and accounts assignments.
- Plan and complete audit assignments from preparation to finalization.
- Prepare and review statutory accounts for various businesses, including limited companies and groups.
- Prepare and review management accounts and other financial information as needed.
- Conduct audit testing, identify key risks, and ensure adequate audit evidence is obtained.
- Ensure that all audit and accounts work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant professional and regulatory standards.
- Prepare corporation tax computations and collaborate with the tax team when necessary.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a key point of contact throughout assignments.
- Identify and communicate accounting and audit issues effectively to managers and partners.
- Support and supervise junior team members, providing guidance and review of their work.
- Assist with work planning and allocation to meet deadlines and budgets.
- Contribute to improvements in processes, systems, and overall client service quality.
- Develop a strong understanding of client businesses to identify opportunities for additional support and services.
Qualifications
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or actively pursuing qualification with relevant experience in UK accountancy practice.
- Extensive experience in both audit and accounts in a practice environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards and auditing principles.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and executing audit assignments.
- Excellent client-facing experience with a knack for building professional relationships.
- Solid understanding of corporation tax and its interactions with accounts preparation.
- Experience in supervising or supporting junior team members.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality work.
- Strong organizational capabilities to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with audit and accounts software; MyWorkpapers experience is desirable.
- Self-motivated, commercially aware, and eager to develop within a growing professional services environment.
