Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Your Role

In the newly established AI Center of Excellence (CoE) at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, you will have the opportunity to act as a technical architect, contributing to the creation of our private banking AI ecosystem. This role involves bridging the gap between high-level AI strategy and production-grade implementation, as you design the core frameworks that support our Generative AI and Agentic initiatives.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex AI workflows using state-of-the-art orchestration frameworks such as LiteLLM, n8n, LangChain, LangGraph, and CrewAI to support stateful, multi-turn interactions.
• Manage the integration of multi-model environments into enterprise ecosystems, optimizing for latency, cost, and token usage.
• Architect high-performance Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines utilizing vector databases like pgvector or Azure AI Search to enhance model accuracy with proprietary banking data.
• Implement a "security-first" design for AI infrastructure, ensuring data residency, privacy compliance, and secure on-premises or private cloud LLM deployments.
• Lead the development of production-grade AI agents for task automation, including auto-healing code agents or intelligent document search assistants.
• Define DevOps and MLOps standards, CI/CD pipelines for AI models, and automated testing frameworks to ensure the reliability of AI in production.

Your Profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in software development and architecture, with a significant track record of delivering AI/ML solutions in complex, regulated environments, such as Finance, Insurance, or Healthcare.
• Expert-level knowledge of LLM integration, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning.
• Highly proficient in Python, Java (Spring Boot), and/or Node.js.
• Extensive experience with Cloud-native design (AWS/GCP/Azure), Docker, Kubernetes, and Serverless architectures.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, including SQL, NoSQL, and the management of manufacturing or transactional process data.
• Familiarity with OT/IT security, IAM/PAM architecture, and secure data-sharing governance.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
