API Integration Expert

Support an international client in establishing robust policies and governance layers for API deployment. This role requires acting as a subject matter expert to define and support integration governance, reviews, and compliance processes, including the automation of these workflows. The focus is on creating comprehensive policies, governance, and safeguard layers for the deployment of all APIs while improving existing API and integration lifecycle processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and support integration governance, reviews, and compliance processes, including automation of those processes
• Create policies, governance, and safeguard layers for the deployment of all APIs
• Improve existing API and integration lifecycle processes
• Create API-first design guidelines, standards, and best practices
• Improve API catalogue quality, documentation, metadata, and reuse
• Create and deliver trainings and workshops
• Promote reusable, secure, and scalable APIs together with the Community of Practice
• Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture team

Required Qualifications

• Strong project experience with API integration and API management
• Previous background as an API or integration Architect
• Project experience in enterprise integration and integration architecture
• Strong knowledge of API-first design, REST/OpenAPI, OData, and modern integration patterns
• Experience with different integration tools and management platforms, such as Azure API Management, MuleSoft, and SAP Integration Suite
• Previous experience in setting up API policies and governance
• Knowledge of SAP integration, SaaS integration patterns, and integration governance
• Experience with developing and delivering API-first training
• Stakeholder management skills
• Project experience in international projects for European businesses
• Fluency in English
