Position Overview
As a vital member of the team, you will engage in the management and promotion of the libraries in Nyon Léman and Nyon Cossy.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome users and provide general information about services, collections, consultation methods, and document borrowing.
- Introduce users to the handling of available equipment and software.
- Conduct loan operations, monitor the condition of consulted and borrowed documents, and locate, search for, and reshelve materials.
- Maintain and equip the documentary fund effectively.
- Contribute to enhancing the visibility of collections and services in the school section of the media library.
- Organize and oversee the signage for the documentary fund, label and package various documents, and perform light repairs.
- Participate in cataloging, inventory management, and document sorting/relocation.
- Update the content of documentary files and carry out routine reproductions.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of exhibitions, activities, tours, reading promotion actions, and other events linked to the media library.
- Contribute to the development of documentary products, including information research and physical document processing.
Special Conditions
This position requires a specific organizational framework for working hours during school periods.
Qualifications
- Possession of a CFC as an Information Document Agent (AID).
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a library, preferably in a school or youth library setting.
- Proficient in French, both spoken and written.
- Comfortable using new digital tools.
- Strong interest in working with children aged 4 to 12 and their teachers, as well as a passion for youth literature.
- Knowledge of bibliographic techniques and standards.
- Familiarity with Alma and some experience in documentary management through Renouvaud.
- Skills in manual and creative activities.
- Able to work independently, with a collaborative spirit and openness to innovation.
