Position Overview
In a collaborative role focused on the management and promotion of the Ecublens Library, you will engage with users while contributing to a vibrant educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome users and provide general information about services, collections, consultation methods, and document lending.
- Guide users in the use of available devices and software.
- Conduct lending operations, check the condition of consulted and borrowed documents, and ensure proper placement of materials.
- Oversee the maintenance and equipment of the documentary collection.
- Enhance the visibility of the collections and services in the school section of the library.
- Organize and monitor the signage for the documentary collection, including labeling and conditioning various documents.
- Perform minor repairs and participate in cataloging, inventory, and reclassification activities.
- Update the content of documentary files and handle routine reproductions.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of exhibitions, events, and reading promotion activities, while contributing to the development of documentary products through information research and physical treatment of documents.
Working Conditions
The working hours are specifically organized around school periods.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Federal Certificate of Proficiency (CFC) as an Information Document Agent.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a library, preferably in a school or youth library setting.
- Proficient in written and spoken French.
- Comfortable using new digital tools.
- Strong interest in working with children aged 4 to 16 years and their teachers, as well as a passion for children's literature.
- Knowledge of library techniques and standards.
- Familiarity with Alma and practical experience in document management using Renouvaud.
- Skills in manual and creative activities.
- Able to work independently, with a collaborative spirit and openness to innovation.
