Opportunity Overview

Join a dynamic team that is actively working on the ground reference model of the Neutral and Ion Mass spectrometer (NIM), part of ESA's JUICE (Jupiter ICy moons Explorer) mission. This role offers a unique chance to directly contribute to engineering, testing, and scientific support for one of Europe’s premier planetary science initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct calibrations and tests of the instrument under various operational conditions.
  • Lead diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware and system issues.
  • Characterize and optimize critical components and subsystems.
  • Participate in the development and validation of operation and software tools.
  • Assist in investigating in-flight issues and support related analysis.
  • Maintain and improve technical documentation, including design and operations manuals.
  • Manage inventory and procurement activities for hardware.

Requirements

  • A higher education degree (ETH, Uni, FH) in engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation and electronic diagnostics.
  • Proficiency in coding in Python and/or C++ or similar.
  • A motivated, hands-on, and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficient written English skills required; basic knowledge of German is desirable.
