Position Overview
Datwyler has developed disruptive elastomer-based sensor and actuator technologies that have the potential to greatly expand current product reach. A dedicated team is in place focusing on the industrialization and commercialization of the technologies across industries and markets. To enhance this talented team, we are looking for an engineer with a hands-on, innovative, and team-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive our sensor technology from lab prototype to robust, reliable performance.
- Define and track critical technical milestones (e.g., sensitivity consistency, temperature stability, long-term drift).
- Coordinate testing protocols to validate technology readiness and minimum viable product criteria.
- Collaborate closely with early-adopter customers to understand requirements and conduct proof-of-concept testing.
- Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) planning and scalability assessments.
- Identify potential production challenges related to sourcing, process repeatability, yield, cost, and quality control.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and potential customers.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Robotics, Electromechanical systems, or similar, combined with good software application skills and a prototyping background.
- Deep technical understanding combined with a customer-focused mindset.
- Self-driven, hands-on, and result-oriented character with good communication skills and a passion for innovation and technology.
- Fluency in English required; proficiency in German strongly desired.
