Overview

Join a reputable reinsurer based in Zurich and be a vital part of a team driving technical accounting excellence. Your expertise will support critical settlement activities and ensure compliance in reporting, while fostering collaboration with various stakeholders and advancing process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to key work packages for quarterly and annual financial statements in line with Swiss GAAP/OR and IFRS, focusing on complex balance sheet coordination.
  • Manage specialized accounting topics independently and assist in (partial) project management within the SAP FS-RI and accounting landscape.
  • Conduct technical reviews and finalize incoming and outgoing (retrocession) technical accounts, accounting for intricate reinsurance contract structures.
  • Ensure timely processing of payables and receivables, including addressing discrepancies with internal and external partners.
  • Support international payment flow monitoring and coordination in collaboration with the Treasury and external stakeholders.
  • Perform quality reviews and plausibility checks on claims reports, analyze deviations and reporting trends.
  • Act as a technical liaison for international business partners and internal teams (underwriting, risk management, actuarial, business process management) in both German and English.
  • Drive enhancements in internal processes, reporting structures, system functionalities, and automation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • A completed business or economics degree, preferably with a focus on accounting or insurance.
  • Several years of professional experience in technical accounting within the reinsurance sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting processes, balance sheet dynamics, and technical accounting principles.
  • Strong SAP experience, with proficiency in FS-RI as a user and for system support/administration.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, with a solid IT affinity.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both English and German.
  • A high level of initiative, responsibility, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences and provide support to junior team members.
  • Strong analytical thinking, a structured approach to work, and effective problem-solving abilities.
