At Thoratec Switzerland GmbH, we design and manufacture life-saving heart pump systems used by patients with advanced heart failure worldwide. Our Zurich site is home to around 140 colleagues across Development, Quality, and Production, fostering an environment where technical expertise meets collaboration and purpose.

Your Role in Quality Leadership

In this pivotal position, you will guide the Quality Release team, ensuring our products are released safely and compliantly. Collaborating closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Regulatory teams, you will blend technical judgment with effective leadership to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• People & Team Leadership: Lead a team of 5–10 colleagues, promoting a collaborative culture and providing guidance and career development support.
• Product Release & Compliance: Oversee product release activities, ensuring safety and compliance while acting as the final decision authority.
• Continuous Improvement & Projects: Manage quality improvement initiatives and site-specific projects, aligning objectives with cross-functional partners.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with Operations and Engineering to resolve quality issues efficiently and represent the Quality Release team in meetings.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• 4–6 years of experience in Quality or Quality Control within regulated environments.
• Demonstrated people leadership experience or readiness to step into a leadership role.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 and global medical device regulations.
• Strong communication skills, fluent in English, with German skills preferred.
