Role Overview

The Strategic Communications Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping how Climeworks communicates its strategy, performance, progress, and impact to essential audiences. This position reports to the Media & Issues Lead and works in conjunction with the VP of Communications & Branding to cultivate Climeworks' corporate narrative and strategic messaging. The goal is to ensure a coherent, consistent, and engaging story is conveyed through various communication channels, including executive communications, thought leadership, and major reporting outputs such as the Annual Report and Sustainability Report.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Communications, Narrative, and Messaging:
    • Develop and refine Climeworks’ corporate narrative, messaging framework, and supporting proof points.
    • Create messaging for key strategic priorities, market developments, partnerships, and corporate milestones.
    • Ensure consistency and clarity in Climeworks' communications regarding business strategy and impact.
    • Collaborate with the VP of Communications & Branding on selected high-priority narrative projects.
  • Corporate Reporting:
    • Assist in the development and delivery of the Annual Report, Sustainability Report, and quarterly investor reporting.
    • Shape the narrative and messaging of these reports while drafting high-quality content that reflects company performance.
    • Partner with various business units to gather insights and translate them into engaging reporting content.
    • Manage reporting timelines, content development, and review processes from planning through publication.
  • Executive Communications and Thought Leadership:
    • Assist in creating impactful executive communications, including speeches, op-eds, articles, and presentations.

Experience and Skills

  • Native-level English proficiency with exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Strong editorial judgment with the ability to extract important narratives from complex information.
  • Extensive experience in developing corporate narratives and strategic messaging.
  • 8+ years in corporate communications, financial communications, journalism, or related fields.
  • Experience with major corporate publications, although familiarity with climate, sustainability, or technology sectors is a plus.
  • Capability to work independently with senior executives and cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
