Based in the vibrant city of Geneva, Switzerland, our Trade Operations department is looking to expand its team with a highly skilled professional. This pivotal role involves the comprehensive planning, execution, and control of distillates operations to satisfy key objectives related to quality, volume, scheduling, and cost. Emphasis will be placed on European and Mediterranean markets within global trade flows.
The successful candidate will play a critical part in ensuring disciplined coordination among various stakeholders, including terminals, vessels, agents, and surveyors, while adhering to company policies and maintaining operational traceability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the complete execution of distillates trades, encompassing loading, shipment, discharge, and delivery operations.
- Manage coordination efforts with terminals, agents, inspectors, surveyors, and shipowners to promote efficient cargo handling.
- Monitor trade flows closely, identifying operational or logistical risks, and implement necessary corrective measures.
- Collaborate effectively with trading, chartering, finance, and risk teams to align with commercial strategies and ensure seamless execution.
- Supervise product movements, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and specifications between terminals, refineries, and vessels.
- Review and validate shipping documentation to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with surveyors and laboratories on sampling, testing, and cargo release, managing quality claims when necessary.
- Oversee inventory reconciliation and maintain auditable records across all operations.
- Analyze and report on daily operational KPIs, focusing on key performance metrics like on-time performance and cost per ton.
Skills & Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in Oil and Products trading operations, with a focus on Distillates such as Gasoline and Diesel.
- In-depth experience in trading and shipping operations, including terminal management and product handling.
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms, shipping documentation, trade finance, and demurrage handling.
- Proven capacity to manage multiple transactions in a dynamic trading environment.
- Hands-on experience with CTRM systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication skills and adept in stakeholder management, fostering collaboration across various functions.
- Substantial understanding of European and Mediterranean distillates markets and logistics, along with familiarity with EU regulations and VAT principles.
- Experience in coordinating truck and Rail Tank Car (RTC) movements, including scheduling and compliance with applicable regulations is advantageous.
