Overview
Join a dynamic team focused on advancing groundbreaking imaging techniques and technologies to support drug discovery in critical research areas such as Oncology, Immunology, Neuroscience, and Cardiovascular and Metabolic diseases.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead an in vivo imaging facility, overseeing laboratory associates and coordinating activities and technical development.
- Maintain and improve equipment infrastructure while addressing biological questions pertinent to projects, supporting MRI, ultrasound, micro-CT, and optical imaging technology.
- Develop and adapt imaging and spectroscopy protocols for preclinical pharmacological studies.
- Analyze and report data from imaging techniques, presenting results in both written and oral formats for team meetings and management boards.
- Design, execute, and report state-of-the-art in vivo experiments involving imaging/spectroscopy on mouse and rat models.
- Integrate in vivo imaging results with ex vivo tissue and biofluid analyses.
- Coordinate with project teams and animal facilities to ensure the timely execution of complex in vivo studies.
- Support the characterization of translational imaging biomarker candidates in collaboration with clinical imaging groups.
Qualifications
- A PhD in a relevant discipline (Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or Life Science) with a minimum of 2-3 years of industry or equivalent academic experience, including extensive in vivo experimentation.
- Documented experience in the in vivo imaging of small rodents through peer-reviewed publications.
- Lab experience with in-vivo MR techniques, providing both technical expertise and biological insight for experimental applications.
- Prior management experience leading an in vivo imaging laboratory within an academic or industrial setting.
- A strong motivation to deepen knowledge in aging diseases and regenerative medicine.
- A proactive and inquisitive approach, with strong skills in formulating, articulating, and critically evaluating scientific experiments.
- Excellent teamwork capabilities and the ability to thrive in cross-disciplinary environments.
- Fluency in written and spoken English with exceptional presentation skills.
Technical Expertise
- Proficient in in vivo anatomical and molecular imaging techniques (MRI, CT, ultrasound, PET, optical) and in vivo spectroscopy.
- Skills in programming within the Bruker environment and image analysis (e.g., Matlab).
- Competence in data analysis, hypothesis testing, and problem-solving.
- Accreditation for animal experimentation (LTK1/LTK2, FELASA B, or equivalent).
