Your Mission

  • Lead and coordinate technical activities within your dedicated field, conducting and managing high-complexity tasks without supervision.
  • Support product development within your engineering field and serve as the local technical authority for metallic materials and surface treatments, as well as the first level of escalations.
  • Proactively communicate and align cross-functionally with adjacent engineering fields and departments outside engineering such as operations, quality, and procurement.
  • Support processes and product continuous improvements to meet customer quality, cost, and demand. Propose market-oriented initiatives to enhance existing products, technologies, and production processes.
  • Write and review technical documentation, project-related deliverables, and specifications relevant to your field of work.
  • Utilize project management techniques/tools to fulfill cost, technical, and schedule requirements.
  • Act as Work Package/Task Manager, responsible for technical, budgetary, and scheduling aspects of assigned tasks.
  • Participate in the Non-Conformance Review Board (NC process) and propose technical solutions in your field. Conduct technical risk management and perform Root Cause Analysis.
  • Contribute to the recruitment process by identifying and maintaining key technical skills in your field within the department, ensuring standardization.
  • Coach junior engineers and external employees, reviewing their work for quality assurance.
  • Provide information on new products, processes, and technologies to the engineering directorates.

Your Story

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Material Science, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of technical experience in the field.
  • Profound knowledge in the following areas:
    • Metallic materials & processes, surface treatments, and adhesive bonding
    • Associated special processes (e.g., NDI)
    • Qualification, certification, and validation of materials and processes
  • Additional expertise in composites, particularly carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP), and non-metallic materials.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills combined with excellent communication abilities.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in the space or aerospace sector.
  • Knowledge of the space industry and market.
  • Project management acumen.
