Senior Lead - Sustainability Design

You will collaborate with various departments to ensure that sustainability is a key consideration at every stage of the product lifecycle.

Your Mission

• Lead impact mapping efforts across footwear, apparel, and accessories while embedding circularity and sustainability principles in product designs.
• Develop and convey a comprehensive roadmap that connects innovation, strategy, design, and development, focusing on sustainable practices such as circular design and alternative dyeing methods.
• Work in close partnership with product strategy and sustainability teams to prioritize initiatives that yield the most significant positive environmental impact.
• Facilitate the transition of sustainable innovations from concept to the design phase, ensuring effective integration of new ideas and technologies.
• Coordinate with material teams to research and implement low-impact materials, leveraging expertise to mainstream sustainable choices.
• Collaborate with color design teams to introduce environmentally friendly practices that maintain aesthetic appeal while minimizing ecological impact.
• Engage with engineering and manufacturing teams to validate low-impact materials and methods, ensuring sustainability goals are met throughout production.
• Educate the design team through workshops and continuous training on sustainable design trends and best practices.
• Promote progress in circular initiatives and maintain alignment with sustainability goals through collaborative efforts during design reviews and internal events.

Your Background

• Strong educational background in design and impact sciences such as environmental sciences or sustainability management.
• In-depth knowledge of materials and processes and their implications on lifecycle assessment (LCA) and other impact metrics.
• Proven experience in guiding design teams toward successful sustainability initiatives and measurable environmental improvements.
• Exceptional communication abilities, capable of inspiring team members and influencing stakeholders across various levels.
• Skilled in managing complex projects, aligning immediate actions with long-term sustainability objectives.
• Proactive and entrepreneurial, thriving in uncertain environments and driving clarity and momentum in sustainable design initiatives.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
• A visionary leader with a pragmatic approach to project management, recognized for transforming innovative sustainable concepts into actionable practices.
