Senior Lead - Apparel Material Development (Lifestyle)

Your Mission

• Material Palette Development: Curate and develop premium materials that enhance garment fit and reflect the brand's commitment to quality.
• Concept Development Management: Oversee material development from initial design through to commercialization handoff while ensuring effective communication with suppliers.
• Sustainability and Innovation: Collaborate with sustainability teams to integrate preferred materials and innovations. Foster relationships with new material partners while building a robust supplier network.
• Supplier Management: Handle pricing and lead times with suppliers, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a vital partner to teams across Design, Product Management, Development, Testing, and Sales.

Your Profile

• Experience: 15-20+ years in apparel and material development, focusing on luxury fashion and high-end lifestyle products.
• Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge in materials, trims, and fabrics, particularly in tailoring, outerwear, and jersey with a strong grasp of sustainability certifications.
• Strategic Vision: Ability to identify high-fashion aesthetic trends and ensure material choices align with the brand’s premium positioning.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written skills to engage with Creative Directors and translate design concepts into compelling visual stories.
• Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented with a knack for budget management and process optimization to enhance developmental efficiency.
• Global Network: Proven experience in global material sourcing with an established network of premium mills and factory relationships.
• Education: Degree in Fashion, Textiles, or a related field, providing a strong foundation in garment construction and textile technology.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
