Your Mission

  • Product Development and Trade-Off Optimization: Develop components from concept to serial production by optimizing specifications such as cost, manufacturability, and operational performance.
  • Design and CAD Engineering: Create and refine product designs using CAD software to generate 3D parts and 2D manufacturing drawings that meet technical standards.
  • Documentation and PLM Management: Maintain accurate design documentation and ensure consistency within a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
  • Prototyping and Testing Support: Assist in prototype fabrication and testing, conducting experiments to validate design concepts.
  • Design Reviews and Quality Processes: Engage in design reviews and quality assurance activities to drive product improvement and reliability.

Your Story

  • Qualifications and Industry Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent industrial experience in design engineering.
  • Mechanical Design & Manufacturing Knowledge: At least 5 years of experience in designing mechanical components for industrial equipment with expertise in various processing methods.
  • Engineering Skills and Technical Expertise: Proficiency in CAD software and PLM systems, with experience in structural analysis and design optimization.
  • Design Methodologies and Sustainability: Advanced design methodologies applied throughout the development process with strong attention to detail.
  • Project Leadership and Collaboration: Proven track record in managing design projects collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Innovation, Mentoring, and Communication: Strong problem-solving skills, passion for innovation, and ability to mentor junior engineers.
  • Languages and Travel: Business fluent in English with willingness to travel occasionally.

Additional Information

This position is based in Opfikon, Zurich, with a requirement to work onsite at least three days per week. Flexibility in work hours allows for full-time or part-time arrangements to suit individual needs.
