Role Overview
Swiss Himmel GmbH is on the lookout for a highly experienced professional with extensive expertise in designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise-scale ETL and Data Warehouse solutions, particularly within the Banking and Financial Services sector. The ideal individual is well-versed in building data pipelines, utilizing Oracle Database, PL/SQL, Unix, Shell scripting, Informatica PowerCenter, Control-M Batch Scheduling, Production Support, and Site Reliability Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, operate, and enhance the existing Data Integration Platform.
- Support the stable and secure operation of the current data landscape and optimize ETL workflows for improved performance and maintenance.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into robust technical ETL solutions.
- Perform data mapping, transformation logic implementation, and metadata management.
- Contribute to the design of future data integration setups.
- Assist in the gradual transition of existing solutions to modern, cloud-based architectures.
- Work collaboratively with delivery teams, business units, and the Data Engineering Team to ensure high-quality, secure, maintainable, and sustainable solutions.
- Actively engage in agile working practices and take responsibility for assigned areas.
- Lead workshops with product owners, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to capture both functional and non-functional requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Over 10 years of experience in ETL Development, Data Warehousing, and Production Support.
- Strong database experience with PL/SQL programming, SQL querying, analysis, and optimization.
- Hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines using enterprise ETL solutions, preferably Informatica PowerCenter.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting for automation and batch processing.
- Solid understanding of financial data classification, data governance, and data lineage standards.
- Strong expertise in BMC Control-M for batch scheduling, monitoring, and job recovery.
- Experience in Level 3 Application Support and Incident Management.
- Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and production monitoring.
- Proficient in monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, and Grafana.
- Willingness to participate in on-call and weekend support during release cycles and production maintenance activities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management using ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, and experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience in banking, financial services, or regulated environments.
