Position Details

Our client, a global leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients in both chemical and biotechnology fields, is seeking a seasoned professional for a 24-month engagement based in the Valais region of Switzerland. The role primarily requires four days on-site work, with the option for one day of remote work weekly.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Scheduling:
  • Develop and manage integrated project schedules throughout all project phases.
  • Create baseline schedules and relevant documentation for stakeholder approval.
  • Ensure schedules accurately reflect scope, resources, and execution strategies.
  • Support resource planning and provide resource-loaded schedules as needed.
• Schedule Monitoring & Analysis:
  • Track project progress against baseline schedules and identify variances.
  • Perform critical path and near-critical path analysis to evaluate schedule risks.
  • Assess schedule performance and suggest mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Maintain meticulous records of changes affecting project timelines.
• Reporting & Communication:
  • Prepare and distribute progress reports, dashboards, and schedule performance metrics.
  • Present updates and critical issues to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate scheduling workshops and collaborative planning sessions.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and other teams to align schedules.
• Schedule Governance & Quality:
  • Ensure the integrity and reliability of scheduling data.
  • Conduct regular schedule reviews to validate progress.
  • Implement best practices and project control procedures across projects.
  • Support continuous improvement in project planning and scheduling processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant residency permit or Swiss/EU citizenship required.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Science, or related fields.
• 5-10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling for large capital projects, preferably in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or chemical industries.
• Experience managing projects valued at CHF 20 million or more.
• Background in EPCM environments and client-side capital projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and strong knowledge of Microsoft Project.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience with schedule risk assessment and critical path analysis.
• Business fluency in English required; German language skills are a plus.
