Scientific Advisor - PHAD

Opportunity Overview

Located in Basel, Switzerland, this role is integral to enhancing scientific standards across the global Pharmaceutical Development (PHAD) team. The focus is on fostering a unified scientific mindset and promoting rigorous innovation in collaboration with multiple partners within the organization and beyond.

Role Responsibilities

• Maintain Scientific Rigor: Connect scientific advancements to project applications, contribute to innovation strategies, and actively participate in science forums at the TRD level.
• Establish Standards: Develop scientific policies and frameworks, ensuring consistent governance across various disciplines while managing overlaps.
• Guideline Development: Create guidelines for risk management and oversee the prioritization of new technologies and data science initiatives in PHAD.
• Promote Scientific Excellence: Sponsor activities that uphold scientific excellence within the organization and mentor junior associates in fostering innovative ideas.
• Facilitate Capability Building: Conduct assessments of scientific advancements and skills gaps, ensuring that training and development processes are aligned with up-to-date trends.
• Foster Knowledge Exchange: Encourage collaboration within PHAD networks and enhance information sharing with NCE Scientific Advisors.
• Engage Externally: Maintain strong connections with academic institutions and industry partners, representing PHAD at scientific congresses and industry meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: PhD in a relevant technical or scientific area, preferably Pharmacy.
• Languages: Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential.
• Experience:
  • 20+ years in drug product development.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership in drug development processes.
  • Proficient in creating strategy and vision within diverse organizations.
  • Established networks within academic and scientific communities.
