Position Overview
Join a dynamic team within a dedicated investment office that caters to large, strategic insurance and pension clients. With a robust investment strategy of over €15bn in “Return Seeking” (RS) assets, the focus is on innovating with private debt and equity investments. Our Zurich-based team excels at providing portfolio management, analytics, and regulatory support, particularly in optimizing Solvency II compliance. This role emphasizes collaboration, expertise, and enhancing our service to clients while managing and originating private investments globally.
Primary Responsibilities
- Contribute to the origination and management of private investments across various markets and jurisdictions.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive summaries for investors on newly originated deals to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Coordinate governance processes to ensure efficient investment approvals while preparing necessary investment and reporting materials within the regulatory framework.
- Understand, prepare, and adjust internal and external investor reports and respond to ad hoc requests for management information.
- Develop and apply analytics to monitor and project capital activities, return forecasts, consumption rates, drawdown risks, and diversification, aiding in the construction of private investment portfolios.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in investment functions within large insurance companies, asset management firms, investment banks, consulting firms specializing in insurance regulation, or alternative asset management groups.
- Essential experience with alternative and private investments.
- Strong understanding of fixed income principles, capital markets, and the private origination process.
- Familiarity with Solvency II regulations, including Standard Formula assessments for private assets, and experience documenting investment decisions in accordance with the Prudent Person Principle (PPP).
- Demonstrated initiative and a strong work ethic, with a commitment to going above and beyond.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, multitask effectively, and respond promptly to deliverables.
- Proficiency in SQL, VBA, Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint is essential for data manipulation and portfolio modeling.
- Excellent academic credentials in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field.
- Fluency in English, German, and one additional European language is required.
