The Experimental Animal Center (EAC) is dedicated to supporting in-vivo research at the University of Bern, ensuring the welfare of animals and the infrastructure essential for performing animal experiments. Your Role and Responsibilities
As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and success of our research programs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance programs and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conducting regular audits and inspections of study activities to verify adherence to quality standards and identify improvement opportunities.
- Providing training and guidance to staff on quality assurance practices.
- Collaborating with study directors, principal investigators, and facility managers to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements in all research activities.
- Managing and maintaining documentation related to quality assurance activities, including audit reports, training records, and SOPs.
- Acting as the primary contact for regulatory authorities and external auditors.
- Staying updated on changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices, and implementing necessary updates to the quality assurance program.
- Fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the Centre.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific or related field; a degree in Quality Management, or a Master's degree or higher is an advantage.
- Proven experience in quality assurance.
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) principles is a plus.
- Demonstrated management experience in complex environments.
- Goal-oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is an advantage.
