Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a beta-detected NMR (beta-NMR) spectrometer at ISOLDE/CERN.
  • Design a vacuum load-lock system for the beta-NMR spectrometer.
  • Conduct research in condensed matter physics and materials science utilizing muon spin spectroscopy techniques (muSR) at PSI and beta-NMR at ISOLDE/CERN.
  • Engage actively in the growth of the beta-NMR group at ISOLDE/CERN.
  • Contribute to the MUONIVERSE collaboration.
  • Present research findings through publications and at scientific conferences.

Candidate Profile

  • PhD degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge in solid state physics, materials science, vacuum technology, and beta-NMR instrumentation.
  • Experience with beta-NMR and muSR techniques.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and capable of thriving in a collaborative environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
