Opportunity in a Dynamic Research Environment
Join a pioneering center for life science research that combines state-of-the-art technologies in genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics with high-end bioinformatics analysis. The Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ) invites talented individuals to become part of a dedicated team that develops and implements cutting-edge next generation sequencing (NGS) methods while offering support and training to research groups accessing our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
The core responsibilities involve:
- Contributing to the service laboratory work in next generation sequencing.
- Conducting routine sample quality control.
- Preparing sequencing libraries.
- Operating and maintaining the latest-generation sequencers in the NGS Services.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A formal training as a laboratory technician, a BSc in Biology, or an equivalent qualification.
- Practical experience in a research or diagnostic laboratory setting.
- Flexibility, strong organizational skills, and effective interpersonal communication abilities.
- Demonstrated capacity to collaborate with research and technical staff in a team-oriented manner.
- Advanced proficiency in English, as it is the primary working language.
- A valid Swiss residency permit.
Working Environment
This full-time position offers an engaging role in a rapidly evolving technological landscape, set within the FGCZ located in Zurich, Switzerland. The duration of the assignment is fixed-term (1 year), commencing immediately or as per mutual agreement.
