Join Our Team in the HPCI Unit

Become an integral part of the HPCI Unit in Vaud, where you will play a crucial role in coordinating activities related to infection prevention and control across both public and private acute care establishments, as well as rehabilitation centers. Your expertise will drive close collaboration and ensure the effective implementation of health protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment and development of local surveillance systems in collaboration with unit physicians.
  • Coordinate the oversight and management of federal surveillance within the canton of Vaud.
  • Gather and analyze data derived from surveillance activities.
  • Conduct establishment-specific analyses based on surveillance findings, produce detailed reports, and communicate results effectively.
  • Act as the primary contact for acute care facilities and rehabilitation centers regarding HPCI projects, ensuring successful deployment of initiatives.
  • Engage with healthcare institutions to provide HPCI expertise and foster strong relationships with frontline staff.
  • Lead investigations during outbreaks through systematic analyses.
  • Design and facilitate training sessions.
  • Participate in the rollout of canton-wide campaigns on hand hygiene, influenza, and more.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the cantonal HPCI acute care network.
  • Support internal projects and ensure the smooth operation of the unit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or an equivalent qualification.
  • Federal diploma in infection prevention associated with care (EPIAS) and sterilization certification.
  • Training linked to adult education is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, including time in acute care and at least 3 years in HPCI.
  • Strong English and German language skills are preferred, particularly for reading scientific articles.
  • Ability to teach and facilitate training sessions effectively.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency with digital tools and outstanding writing skills.
