Engineering Role in Spacecraft Attitude Control
Join a team dedicated to designing, integrating, and testing spacecraft Attitude and Orbit Control System (AOCS) components and algorithms for customer-specific missions. This role involves close collaboration with customers to discuss requirements and agree on tailored solutions, as well as interfacing with the Systems Engineering team to define architecture and spacecraft design based on required performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design AOCS solutions and integrate and test spacecraft AOCS components and algorithms for specific missions and spacecrafts
- Engage with customers to discuss requirements and agree on solutions
- Specify, evaluate, and select spacecraft attitude determination sensors and actuators tailored to customer missions
- Interface with the Systems Engineering team to define architecture and spacecraft design based on required AOCS performance
- Perform simulation and development using tools such as MatLab, Simulink, C, and C++
- Develop AOCS software, including components for use with qualified internal components and customer-provided or selected components
- Deliver AOCS documentation tailored to customer-specific missions and spacecrafts
- Support integration, testing, and troubleshooting of AOCS components and software in Cleanroom and in-orbit environments
- Participate in the evolution of spacecraft AOCS architecture, including components and systems providing high pointing performance solutions
- Develop and maintain technical reference documentation for spacecraft AOCS architecture definition, design, and development
Requirements
- Relevant technical knowledge obtained via education, preferably at MSc level or higher, within Control and Automation, and/or professional high-tech experience
- Good understanding of CubeSat or spacecraft attitude determination and/or control systems
- Knowledge in spacecraft system engineering
- Recent participation in projects developing space hardware and/or software, preferably related to spacecraft attitude determination and/or control
- Knowledge of spacecraft attitude determination and control system components such as IMUs, star trackers, reaction wheels, and reaction control systems
- Interest in spacecraft propulsion systems
- Programming proficiency in one or more languages, such as C, C++, Python, or MatLab
- Proficiency in working with Linux-based systems
- Hands-on experience with programming microcontrollers
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Experience in customer-facing roles and explaining complicated technologies in easily understandable terms
- Fluent English on a professional level
