Company Overview
This position plays a vital role in enhancing the company’s HSE Management System, fostering improvements across global divisions involved in turbocharging, fuel injection manufacturing, facility management, and service operations. The focus will be on establishing clear and actionable Group HSE standards and procedures to ensure safe practices for High-Risk Activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the establishment and update of Group-level control standards, policies, and guidelines aligned with ISO standards.
- Deliver technical HSE support across all divisions, overseeing the implementation of a comprehensive Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) program tailored to divisional needs.
- Design safe systems of work and deliver essential training to promote safety across all operational sites, ensuring adherence to the Accelleron Safety Code.
- Facilitate the resolution of challenges within the HSE Management System, including reporting and data management, while advancing continuous improvement.
- Assist management in creating risk-based method statements and assessments, ensuring effective hazard identification and risk mitigation.
- Lead or significantly participate in incident investigations, emphasizing root cause analysis and actionable corrective measures.
- Promote a safety leadership culture in daily operations, encouraging safe practices and behavior recognition.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting process in collaboration with the Group HSE Manager, managing performance within financial targets.
- Support the growth of a competent HSE function through the provision of training and development opportunities.
Background and Qualifications
- Higher National Certificate, Technical Diploma, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with relevant engineering experience, or a diploma in a mechanical/electrical trade including a technical apprenticeship.
- Professional HSE qualification equivalent to NEBOSH Diploma or Degree, or IOSH Certified Safety Practitioner.
- Experience as a supervisor or mentor within engineering contexts, covering sectors like manufacturing, oil & gas, or facility management.
- Certified Internal ISO Auditor (ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
- 5–7 years of practical experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or service operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
- A decade of comprehensive HSE expertise in manufacturing or service settings demonstrating tangible safety performance improvements.
- Proven track record in implementing High-Risk Activity Minimum Standards and relevant codes of practice.
- Strong capability to provide practical HSE solutions to operational challenges across various locations.
- Experience in developing HSE management documentation and training materials.
- Familiarity with Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus).
- Fluency in English; proficiency in German is advantageous.
