Flight Control Software Engineer

About the Company

ANAVIA specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) systems, capable of handling up to 500 kilograms. The company delivers industry-leading unmanned helicopter systems tailored for various mission profiles, including Surveillance & Reconnaissance, Inspection, Mapping, and Cargo operations.

Your Main Tasks

• Flight Control Software: Design, implement, and test model-based software that enables new flight functionalities.
• Simulation: Test newly implemented features within a comprehensive simulation framework.
• Documentation: Assist in the development of documentation and training materials that detail the flight control logic.
• Autonomy: Design safe, reliable, and autonomous flight sequences that align with customer requirements and adhere to the latest safety regulations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams, including design, flight operations, and avionics engineers, to deliver new features and enhancements that realize customer visions.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in safety regulations and sensor technologies, integrating best practices into workflows.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience: Significant experience with model-based programming, ideally within the aviation or space industry; familiarity with associated standards and best practices; experience programming in C or similar languages is advantageous.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of model-based programming (Simulink or similar); a solid understanding of flight dynamics; ability to design comprehensive test programs, from unit to system level.
• Communication: Excellent technical communication skills.
