About the Role
We are a binational US/Swiss family seeking a trusted individual to provide full-time care for our 1½-year-old daughter. The role involves:
- Planning and engaging in age-appropriate activities, and accompanying her on outings and appointments such as feeding, naps, play, and short outdoor walks.
- Planning and preparing healthy meals in accordance with our family's dietary guidelines.
- Managing household tasks including laundry, light housekeeping, and errands.
The expected start date is 29 December 2025.
Working Pattern
The position entails a schedule from Monday to Friday, approximately from 07:00 to 18:00, including a 2-hour midday break (≈ 42 hours per week). Occasional overtime is compensated with paid time off or pay in line with Swiss law, providing a minimum of 11 hours of daily rest and one full day off per week.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary ranging from CHF 3,630 to 4,200 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Four paid weeks of vacation per year.
- Employer-paid occupational accident insurance, with non-occupational accident insurance as required by law.
- Registration with the Swiss social-insurance system utilizing the simplified payroll scheme.
- If living in, board and lodging can be provided, subject to official AHV in-kind deduction rates (e.g., CHF 990/month).
Accommodation
The accommodation includes a private furnished bedroom and shared bathroom, with full board and Wi-Fi. The first year will be spent in Zurich, after which the family will relocate to Stäfa (8712) in December 2026, located just a 3-minute walk from the lake. The area has easy public transport access to the lake, parks, and city center.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in caring for infants/toddlers and managing a household.
- Eligibility to work in Switzerland (EU/EFTA passport or valid Swiss permit preferred).
- A confident cook.
- Fluency in English is required, with knowledge of German and/or French being an advantage.
- Traits of trustworthiness, discretion, organization, and a genuine fondness for young children.
