Professional Overview

We are partnering with a prominent national retailer that operates over 300 sites across the country. This opportunity involves taking charge of maintenance delivery within their property team, working alongside a national service provider. The role requires a field-based presence, typically involving 1-2 days on site each week.

Role Summary

The successful candidate will be an experienced facilities leader responsible for overseeing both reactive and planned maintenance across a national portfolio. You will ensure maintenance activities are managed efficiently and in compliance with all relevant regulations. Leadership will be provided to the outsourced maintenance provider while also supporting internal stakeholders to maintain site safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of planned and reactive maintenance across the national portfolio through collaboration with the outsourced service provider.
  • Ensure performance metrics in both maintenance and compliance meet established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Plan and oversee minor works projects from initial scoping to final completion.
  • Proactively manage the facilities and maintenance provider, including conducting weekly office visits to guarantee consistent service delivery.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including support functions, branch partners, and operational leaders.
  • Track, forecast, report, and analyze OPEX and CAPEX expenditures.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, focusing on process enhancements, cost efficiencies, and service quality improvements.
  • Utilize data and insights to enhance service delivery and minimize recurring issues.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, property, and statutory maintenance requirements.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A proven track record in managing both reactive and planned maintenance across a high-volume portfolio.
  • Relevant experience in facilities and property management within high-volume retail or similar sectors.
  • Experience in managing external contractors, suppliers, KPIs, and SLAs.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, building effective relationships with operational leaders and branch partners.
  • Budget management experience with a focus on delivering value-for-money solutions.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and health & safety regulations.
  • A full UK driving license and a willingness to travel to sites across the UK as required.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation package includes a competitive salary starting at £55,000, along with a £5,000 car allowance. Additionally, a hybrid working model is offered, typically involving 1-2 days on site per week, as well as a range of competitive company benefits.
