We are seeking individuals who possess a passion for meteorology, data analysis, and energy markets. In this role, you will provide essential insights and tools that influence trading decisions, ultimately shaping our understanding of weather impacts on global energy markets.

Your Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive verbal and written briefings to trading desks regarding global weather developments through various reports and presentations.
• Develop advanced tools to improve analysis capabilities that support trading strategies across Axpo's energy trading desks.
• Assist stakeholders, including Risk, Origination, and Energy Markets Modelling, with ad-hoc analyses related to meteorology, hydrology, and climatology.
• Stay updated on academic research, forecasting technologies, and vendor products to provide cutting-edge insights.

Your Qualifications

• A collaborative and inquisitive team player with a trading-oriented mindset.
• At least 3 years of experience in a role involving weather-prediction models and communication in a dynamic environment.
• Strong understanding of energy fundamentals, specifically in electricity and gas markets, backed by a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in time series and data analysis techniques, particularly using Python or similar programming languages.
• Possession of a completed Master’s degree or higher in Meteorology, Hydrology, or related scientific disciplines.
• Fluent in English, with strong communication skills.
