Key Responsibilities

• Produce insightful analyses of macroeconomic conditions, including GDP, sectoral IP, CPI, and central bank policies, while evaluating their impact on energy markets such as petroleum, gas/LNG, coal, metals, and European electricity.
• Provide verbal and written briefings to trading desks through regular meetings, reports, and presentations, encouraging discussions on significant macroeconomic developments.
• Assist traders and analysts in translating macroeconomic perspectives into demand expectations and potential trading strategies.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support other stakeholders, including mid-term energy markets modeling, Risk, and Treasury teams, by providing actionable insights.

Qualifications & Skills

• A team-oriented, curious, and communicative professional who excels in a trading context.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in macroeconomic analysis within a highly communicative environment.
• A trading-focused mindset with extensive knowledge of energy fundamentals (oil, gas, and electricity) and their relationship to macroeconomic developments.
• Proficiency in time series and data analysis techniques, particularly using Python or similar programming languages.
• A completed Master’s degree or a higher academic qualification in economics, econometrics, or finance.
• Fluency in English.
