Your Contribution
Become a vital part of our Turbine Development department within the gas turbine business in Baden, Switzerland, and engage in the continual enhancement of our products.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical integrity solutions and lifetime predictions for gas turbine structural components, including rotors and casings.
- Collaborate closely with various functional teams, such as Aerodynamics, Heat Transfer, Clearance, Design, Manufacturing, and Lifetime Extension, to ensure components meet essential static and dynamic criteria.
- Prepare, review, and validate technical reports and design review materials.
- Capture lessons learned and integrate field feedback into product designs.
- Support the development of manufacturing processes through your technical expertise.
- Work with Quality and design teams to resolve nonconformities.
- Conduct failure analyses and offer technical feedback based on field operations.
- Prepare specifications for lifetime extensions.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of material, part, spin pit, and engine tests and validations.
Your Qualifications
- Degree in mechanical engineering or a similar qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably in rotor structural assessments.
- Proficient in state-of-the-art 3D finite element modeling, ideally using ANSYS.
- Solid understanding of thermal/structural mechanics, rotor and structural dynamics, and materials physics.
- Knowledge of gas and steam turbine fundamentals.
- Fluency in English; Italian and/or German language skills are advantageous.
- A collaborative, open-minded, analytical, and target-driven team player who thrives in a multicultural setting.
- Creative, meticulous, and independent with excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time worldwide.
