Advance Life-Saving Vaccine Development
LimmaTech Biologics AG, a Swiss-based clinical stage biopharmaceutical company and wholly owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company, is dedicated to halting the increasing threat of global infections caused by emerging antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and sexually transmitted diseases. Join our team to contribute to the development of early- to mid-stage vaccines by leveraging innovative protein purification processes. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team establishing scalable and GMP-compatible manufacturing processes that produce lifesaving vaccines.
Your Responsibilities
- Prepare, perform, and document Downstream Processing (DSP) operations and experiments in accordance with established plans, timelines, and project priorities.
- Develop robust and scalable purification processes suitable for subsequent GMP manufacturing under the guidance of experienced team members, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment such as FPLC systems, microfiltration, depth filtration, and tangential flow filtration (TFF) systems.
- Establish and execute experimental strategies to investigate chromatography methods and resins, filtration technologies, and critical process parameters to identify optimal purification conditions for novel products.
- Establish and perform in-process controls (IPCs) to characterize process intermediates and purified material, supporting process development and monitoring purification performance.
- Evaluate and interpret experimental data, communicating results and conclusions in scientific meetings, presentations, and technical reports.
- Support technology transfer activities to contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) throughout different stages of development.
- Help ensure that laboratories and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and fully operational condition in accordance with applicable safety and operational standards.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a curious, enthusiastic, and proactive team player who enjoys hands-on laboratory work, takes ownership of activities, and is motivated to continuously learn and develop in a laboratory-focused technical role. Ideally, you bring the following qualifications and skills:
- A Technician qualification, BSc, or MSc in biotechnology, bioprocess engineering, food technology, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience in protein purification, including chromatography/FPLC and filtration technologies such as TFF.
- A strong technical aptitude and enthusiasm for working with sophisticated laboratory and process equipment.
- Practical knowledge of biochemical and analytical methods, such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, HPLC, and UV-based measurements.
- Knowledge of or experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) approaches is an advantage.
- A structured, reliable, and solution-oriented working style, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
