Position Overview
A key role in the Immunology Development Unit, focusing on scientific and clinical strategy for assigned clinical trials, along with the monitoring and reporting of high-quality data.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and provide strategic medical input for project deliverables, including protocol sections, data review, and regulatory documents.
- Collaborate with global line functions and trial directors to execute program sections effectively.
- Conduct reviews of trial data and may take on the role of study medical monitor.
- Support in ensuring the overall safety of clinical compounds and contribute to safety reporting.
- Engage with external partners, such as regulatory authorities and patient advocacy groups, while supporting internal collaboration across various departments.
- Facilitate the transition of pre-proof of concept projects, working with translational medical sciences.
- Promote career development and provide mentoring for clinical colleagues.
- Contribute to training and educational initiatives for Novartis stakeholders.
- Participate in global initiatives to improve clinical development processes.
Qualifications
- MD or equivalent medical degree is required, with board certification preferred.
- A minimum of four years of clinical practice experience, including residency.
- Over five years of experience in clinical research or drug development within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Demonstrated success in conducting clinical trials and a thorough understanding of therapeutic areas.
- Ability to establish strong scientific partnerships and effective communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of GCP, trial design, statistical analysis, and regulatory processes.
- Preferred experience in people management, particularly in a global or matrix environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with options available in Basel, London, Barcelona, Madrid, or Dublin.
