Role Overview
The position involves the development, planning, and implementation of Supply Chain Strategy for an assigned category, with a workplace located in Baden, Switzerland, reporting to the Global Category Manager Components.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve defined Supply Management targets (quality, logistics, and total cost) for the designated category.
- Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies focused on optimizing total costs, product quality, and logistical performance.
- Incorporate environmental considerations, including the CO2 footprint of products and the value chain, into strategy development.
- Conduct regular assessments of supply risks and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure a resilient supply chain.
- Oversee supplier evaluation, qualification, development, and negotiations related to pricing and agreements.
- Continuously improve the supply chain with the goal of reducing lead times and optimizing logistics processes.
- Represent Supply Management in product development projects, managing transitions to serial release and stable supply.
- Manage part relocations until successful first article inspections are completed and transitions to the buyer organization are executed.
- Initiate and drive design modification requests in collaboration with the design team.
- Support the buyer organization during supply escalation situations.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant professional experience as a Category Manager or Project Manager in an international context is advantageous.
- Proficient negotiation skills.
- A collaborative, solution-oriented approach complemented by exceptional communication skills and a focus on execution.
- Fluency in business English and German is required.
- Willingness to travel, up to 20% of the time.
